"Do not forget the helpless" Psalm 10:12

Qian Meng zhen

Meng zhen is now fourteen years old and has become a burning light in the home. She had a very disruptive life before coming to our home and it hasn't been without challenges for her, the housemothers and us. The struggles have molded this sweet young girl into a truly dynamic person. She told us that her heart lets her know when she does something wrong so then she quickly changes.

Dentists came from Zhengzhou at their own expense and checked all the children's teeth. They will send us a report of each

child so we can follow up with treatment in Xin Mi. Right shows that Li Jun was so cooperative.

After consulting with the immunization hospital they agreed we should have all the children who have not already had the mumps in our home immunized. By law all children should have had

this after they were born but in the countryside this isn't always followed and especially among children with unusual circumstances as many of ours have had. So one Saturday they all went to the hospital to have this done. The following day a doctor and nurse came to our home and gave all the children and staff a TB test and drew blood to check that everyone had active antibodies for Hepatitis B. Meng yao is bravely having blood drawn.

The two new little girls have totally dominated

In time through schooling they will change; even in the nursery schools, only Putonghua (Mandarin) is allowed. Yet in our homes, our caregivers can only speak Henan dialect so it will just take
time. One day Jin Ge chattered away and Jane wanted to know what she was saying, "Grandma I fell coming up the stairs," she was telling her. She wasn't hurt; she just wanted to tell her.
Books are our greatest joy - well maybe second place is more accurate - following basketball with the older boys. We are always watching for new books for
