"…defending the fatherless and the oppressed." Psalm 10:18

A New Little Sister in our Home

Ya Fei and Li ke, just like every member of our family were so excited at the arrival of our new little brothers and sisters. What had increasingly become a wonderfully happy home and had just seemed like it couldn't get any better exploded in joy and love and thanksgiving in the expansion of our family. The children really welcomed the idea of having the younger ones in their home. The joy just flowed - 'our cups runneth over' - truly. This little girl ,Zhou Li jun, now has more family than she would have ever dreamed of having to love and care for her.

Bringing Hope to Children Living in Poverty
and Hopelessness

This little girl's father who had been sick for many years died in September 2010. Zhou Li jun (on the cover) is age 4. Her mother had serious mental problems and couldn't take care of herself so

on September 27, 2010 she ran away and no one was able to locate her since she had come from another province and they had no identification about her.

Li Huai yu is a nine year old little boy with a lengthy story; I will make it brief. Actually his

mother has been left crippled from a stroke and his father has poor health and collects trash. He and his brother (the child's uncle) would take turns caring for the little boy when he was home from school but his uncle is a poor farmer with three children of his own. The government told us this was the poorest of the poor families in their area and all their schooling and food fees had been waived. He is an exceptionally intelligent and gentle little boy and was dressed so very poor when he arrived. Although he is not an orphan after consulting our Leader we felt we must help this little oppressed child.

An elderly couple had been working for a paper company until it closed down. They were presently living in the old home the company had provided for them which goes back generations with the old brick floors and tile type roofing but actually everything including the roof was collapsing. Their furnishings were sparse and old and torn. They were caring for their twin grandsons, age 10. Their father had a major heart problem and died in one of the hospitals in Zhengzhou on March 5, 2009. Their mother deserted them right after the father's death. They were extremely poor since neither of the old couple had a job.
These two boys, Qian Jin bo and Qian Jin ke, were never separated. Their grandparents told us that if one of boys arrived home earlier than the other, he would go back to school and find the other one. They were always together and watched out for the other; they were very close. The day we arrived was the second anniversary of the death of the grandparent's son so their grief was heavy. Both boys have vision problems and the tape you see on their ears are a type of pressure point treatment to help their vision.
