We Are Shining - Inside and Out

March was still very cold and on this Sunday it was also raining all day. Although the homes had heat, coats were still comfortable. We had a lesson and

on, "Being clean outside and being clean inside. In different columns they wrote and drew about keeping their hands, feet, face, hair and clothes clean and in another category they wrote about positive and negative things that go to their minds, then to their hearts and finally into action. On the back of their papers, they drew a self-portrait that said, "I am shining."

All morning they worked diligently on their papers regarding themselves as being clean both outside and in. Above left Xiao li and Xiao hui are busy; above Zhai Zhi gang is in deep thought. Left our dear little Gu Si yuan put her whole heart into the project. Below Xiao hui and Mu Yao dong discuss their work.

We then had an election with secret ballots whereby each

child voted for only one in the home who they felt was a great example of being a "light to follow". Mi Chang hong was the winner with A Nan and Fu Ying li only one point behind him. Bai Fang was a close third. This was a really special honor to be chosen by their 'brothers and sisters'.
