This little girl, Wu Xiao yu had both her father and her mother. When her father was about 52 years old, he found a wife from a different town. She did not speak but just wandered. She constantly slobbered from swollen lips and her clothes were full of food and or vomit. Occasionally she would sit on the ground and scoot around. Her hair was so filthy with dirt and dust. It appeared she had never bathed. He claimed this woman was already completely abnormal and insane since he married her. Three years after they got married, they had this little girl, Wu Xiao yu. He had no one to help him since he had to take care of his wife and Xiao yu. He borrowed money occasionally in order to take care of his family. Sometimes kind people offered them food and supplies to help. He raised some rabbits and also made some baskets to sell for income.

This family was absolutely so very filthy and poor. The house was so dark inside there was so many old dirty clothes that neighbors had given to them to use. The little girl has been sleeping in such a terrible dirty place. Life was so dark and horrible for her.

However she seemed bright and open and friendly and spoke freely and even sang.
