Graduated from High School and began to study in a university to become a teacher in the summer of 2008.

PARENTAL HISTORY:

Her father died of a fall from a tower on the job after which the mother became mentally ill. She finally became truly insane, screaming obscenities at anyone approaching their house. The house was dark and windowless when we visited. In 2000 her mother also died.

Her mother was from a distant village so they had no relatives nearby to help. She has one brother, Mi Chang hong, who also lives in our home and an older sister who after the mother's death was sent to Guangdong to someone there willing to care for her.

OTHER DATA:

We brought this little girl and her brother to our home even though they had a living mother because she was not mentally able to care for the children and they were being abused and had no one to help them. They had no income and the children would often go days without eating. Their mother also beat them. Neighbors would -occasionally give them food and the oldest daughter would prepare it on the weekends when she was home from school. The teachers at the school had collectively paid for these children's school fees.

Mi Gui fang is a delightful person. She is an excellent student, honest, hardworking and always even-tempered and cheerful. Everyone in the home loves her. She is helpful to the other children and if they have questions or problems she is always willing to help them whether it be academic or personal.
