FAMILY BACKGROUND:

In 1997 her father died in a traffic accident and in 1999 the mother died of an unknown disease. She went to live with her aunt when she was about 1 or 2 years old. In 2000 her uncle had an aneurysm and his other brothers and relatives collected money and put him in a hospital in Zhengzhou. They spent more than 200 thousand Yuan (almost $27,000) for his medical care. Her grandpa died and her grandma is living with her daughter in Nanyang but she has never visited her.

The uncle and aunt who have been caring for her have two children of their own. Their son had quit school to help with the family and someone in Zhengzhou is paying for their daughter's school fees. Her aunt also has a steel plate in one of her shoulders as a result of an accident.
They have an income of 36 Yuan ($4.80) a month from the government and try to raise a couple of pigs for a living.

Lu Cong hui is very hardworking and she has an open personality. She is always seen working on her schoolwork at the table and she is always willing to take time to help her brothers and sisters. She is very talented in many different kinds of things and is a wonderful leader in her school. At times she is rather serious and appears to be straightforward.
