FAMILY BACKGROUND: Guo Jian Guang was really deprived of love, security, food or hope of any kind. His mother who was a mute had married his father who was also mute but after the little boy was born she ran away. Strangely his uncle was also mute so the child had been living with these two handicapped men. |

The home was dirty, very old and dark with no sign of food of any kind. His father was a heavy drinker and died of a heart attack in October 2007. Guo Jian guang lived during the week at the primary school since there was no one to take care of him, but when he returned home he was usually alone. He would cook some fast noodles if he had them. He looked somewhat frail and was obviously undernourished. That which struck our hearts most however was the hopelessness we saw in his face and |

the deep despair he
seemed
to carry. Jane gave him a hug and he seemed
so hungry for a touch of someone who loved and cared for him. When
she told him she was sorry for the loss of his father and all his
problems, his eyes filled with tears.
Later after he came to our home we found out that he was contemplating suicide when he was in the countryside because his life held only despair. It is so wonderful that we discovered and saved him just in time. |

Today Jian guang is so happy to live in our home. He is a precious boy and we all love him. He is also very intelligent and his grades are awesome. His classmates call him "Prince of Math" for his excellency in Math.
