ACADEMIC STATUS: Grade One in Middle School - As of Fall of 2009

PLACE OF BIRTH: Tu men Village, Niu Dian town

PLACE LIVING: Niu Dian town with Grandparents, both were 63 years old when we visited their home.

FAMILY BACKGROUND:

His grandpa (that he was living with) had no son before so his brother gave him his son who was the little boy's real father. From this, we could see the grandparents weren't the boy's real grandparents.

In 2001 his father went to work on his motorcycle and a truck hit him and he died, the truck ran away. Two months later his mother also ran away.

They had a clean house and a washing machine. The government gives them an allowance. His grandpa makes baskets and sells little things in the street markets but they are still quite poor. We went to his school and talkedto his teacher. He said he was a top student and was very proud of him. She said he was kind, lovely and open and was the leader of the class. The neighbors also said he is a good boy.
