She was in grade 3 Nong Quan Miao Primary School when she was in the countryside. Her teacher said she was an excellent student. Since there are so many poor people in this area the school was unable to free her education, only waiving 25 yuan.

PARENTAL HISTORY: Her mother's name was Chen Xiao ping and her father's name was Chen Wu Qi. When she was three years old, both parents were killed while selling fabric on the street. A truck hit them. She lived with her grandmother, age 73 who suffers with rheumatism and has cataracts.

OTHER DATA: Her grandmother had five sons - Chen chen's father was the youngest. She was widowed early and had to raise these boys all alone; life was difficult and she had a hard time. When it came time to find her sons a wife and a place to live - she was unable to do so, therefore they all hold a grudge to this day and won't even visit her on China's big family holidays. Each of these sons actually suffers so much - they are so poor so they cannot help in any way.

Her grandma's old house collapsed so a neighbor let she and the granddaughter move into his house while he was gone. They have no supplies. The grandma raised pigs to buy her own medicine and pay for the girl's school fees. She used to farm and had saved some corn which they still use for food.

PERSONALITY: Gentle and very sweet.

Chen chen came to the home in 2003 and now is a tall, slender athletic looking young lady with a heart filled with goodness and love. She is a superb student and so lovely to be with. She is a school leader and her teachers often use her as an assistant and is so proud of her. She likes all sports, especially basket ball. She is open and inquisitive and loves to communicate with others, especially all our foreign visitors. She is highly moral and honest with a kind loving heart. She also remains an outstanding leader among our children, encouraging them to be thankful, thoughtful and loving.
